Psychometrician Licensure Examination
7:59 PM
The much awaited Psychometrian/Psychologist Licensure Examination is finally coming. The schedule is yet to be announced but according to the Psychological Association of the Philippines:
As the Republic Act No. 10029 states:
I'm qualified to take the Psychometrician Examination so, I will be reviewing my lectures and textbooks soon. And I am also planning to share my reviewer with you guys through this blog of mine.
Watch out for my Psychology Licensure Reviewer. Of course, that is not going to be like those leaflets that Review Centers give their students. It is only the Outline of what I would read by the heart to pass the Examination.
To know more about the Republic Act No. 10029 check this link.
Hey! I made my own Reviewer in Theories of Personality. I'm giving it out to those who need another reference for the coming Psychometrician Board Exam. It's not the official reviewer it was based only my perception of what's needed and important. If you want a copy click this link!

The first board examination for Licensure as Psychometrician and/or Psychologist will be in the last quarter of 2013 (or no earlier than October 2013).I was really excited when I heard about this through my college professor. This is what Psychology degree holders are waiting for. So, we can have our very own license and become a real professional. The Act has been passed and we Psychology degree holders should be preparing ourselves.
As the Republic Act No. 10029 states:
Who are qualified to take the Licensure Examination for Psychologists?
An applicant for the Licensure Examination for Psychologists must be:
- A Filipino citizen, a permanent resident or a citizen of a foreign state/country which extends reciprocity to the Philippines relative to the practice of psychology
- Holds at least a master's degree in psychology conferred by a university, college or school in the Philippines or abroad recognized/accredited by the CHED, and has obtained sufficient credits for the subjects covered in the examination
- Has undergone a minimum of 200 hours of supervised practicum/internship/clinical experience related to psychological intervention, psychological assessment, and development, implementation and evaluation of psychological treatment, under the auspices of a licensed psychologist or other licensed mental health professional
- Of good moral character
- Has not been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude.
Who are qualified to take the Licensure Examination for Psychometricians? An applicant for the Licensure Examination for Psychometricians must be:
- A Filipino citizen, a permanent resident or a citizen of a foreign state/country which extends reciprocity to the Philippines relative to the practice of psychometrics
- Holds at least a bachelor's degree in psychology conferred by a university, college or school inthe Philippines or abroad recognized/accredited by the CHED, and has obtained sufficient credits for the subjects covered in the examination
- Of good moral character
- Has not been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude.
A citizen of a foreign country may take the Licensure Examination as long as his/her country extends reciprocity to the Philippines. What do we mean by reciprocity? The country of which the foreigner is a citizen does any of the following:
- Admits Filipino citizens to the practice of psychology or psychometrics without need for registration and issuance of a certificate of registration/professional identification card; or
- Allows Filipino citizens to practice psychology or psychometrics without restriction; or
- Allows Filipino citizens to practice psychology or psychometrics after an examination on terms of strict and absolute equality with nationals of said country.

ReplyDeleteHello AJ! I am a fresh graduate of BS Psychology from FEU and I am currently having my review in Mega Minds Psychology Review Center in Manila. Near UST. If you want to check it out, here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/MegaMindsReviewCenter
Deletegusto ko na din po kasi mag review.. but i don't have any lists of review centers in Manila, usually puro nursing review centers.. :)
ReplyDeletetama..cguro by June or July palang mag-lalabasan ang review centers para sa Psychologist Licensure exam. Until now kasi wala pang fixed schedule from PRC. Let's wait na lng muna.
Deletenice page..

ReplyDeleteKelan po pwedeng mag-file?
ReplyDeleteHi Athena! Sorry I don't have any info about the schedule of filing yet! let's wait for the announcements..
DeleteOriginal certificate of full-time work experience as a Psychometrician or full time work engagement in the practice of psychometrics for a minimum of 2 years, either from immediate superior (if employed) or from institutional clients, professional partners/colleagues (if on private practice), specifying the nature of work, duly sworn in and notarized under oath. Official job description must be attached.
ReplyDelete-this is one of the requirements to apply for psychometrician license..clearly you don't only have to be a degree holder but you also have to have at least two years experience as a psychometrician..as for the start and end of application, it has already started and will end till May 2015 so you still have two years or so before the actual licensure exams for psychometrician and psychologist.
see more at the OFFICIAL website of PRC:

Hi Mary Jona! Thanks for sharing that..the one you mentioned is a requirement for "applicants for registration without examination" which means that those who works as a Psychometrician for a minimum of 2 years can apply for a license without having to take the examination this year. And yeah you're right those who wants to apply for license without examination can pass their requirements until May 2015. I hope that clears everything :)

DeleteOh my bad. Thank you for the correction.
DeleteAnyway, it's already June and I hope the exam has a fixed date soon because I can't stop feeling that it might not push through this year considering the schedule is not in the PRC schedule of licensure exams for the year 2013..

do you happen to know the subjects included in the exam? Students from a topnother university made our batch answer a a test that aims to find out our preparedness for the licensure exam and the subjects involved were the following: theories of personality, psychological testing, industrial and abnormal psychology. (if I still remembered it correctly)

Deletebut I think it was just a review of major subjects not really a review for a psychometrician exam exclusively. Anyway, my batchmate says that the psychometrician licensure exam might as well involve spss, test development, basic stat, etc.
DeleteHopefully you can post the outline you will make coz I think it will really help us a lot. :)
Hi! Here's a link to the subjects included on the board exam: http://iheartpsych.blogspot.com/2013/05/requirements-for-psychology-licensure.html
DeleteI don't know yet if they're including the Psychometrics subject given that it's for the Psychometricians. If they're going to include SPSS and other techniques used in Analysis of Human Behavior I'll bet the exam would be really really difficult. Let's wait for further announcements.
how about those who work at the other industry? so meaning they cant take the psychometrician board exam? just like me, im in the BPO industry for almost 2 years.
DeleteIll wait for the reviewer you'll make :D because i dont think i can pass that so called licensure exam by just depending on the -insufficient- lectures our prof. will be giving us. ill make it atleast 1 to 2 yrs preparation :D so i will always keep in touch in your iheartPsychology page. and please after having your licensure exam i hope you can share with us the topics involved that we should be focusing and may this page be a great help for everyone. btw thanks alot for that info you shared with us. Godbless
ReplyDeleteThanks Munoz Constantino! You really motivated me today. I'm currently checking my old reference books in Psychology so I can start making the reviewer soon. I promise to try my best and give you updates about the upcoming licensure exam. Thanks again!
DeleteHello misselayneous, I'm Jason Go, Academic Coordinator of SPARK Review Center.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I admire your blog for advocating the psychology profession we have in the Philippines. Your blog will surely help many of those who want to be guided in their own review itineraries.
Also, I would love to have a meeting with you and discuss great things about the future of this blog. Email me: support@sparkreviewcenter.com
Once again thank you for letting others know that psychology is indeed a profession now. Law should be followed. And taking the board exam is inevitable if we want to promote quality of care to our clients. Have a nice day!

ReplyDeleteNakita ko sa ibang website na sa October 28 and 29 na daw yung exam. I just want to know what are some ducmentary requirements (like Diploma, TOR, etc.) para makapag-register for the said coming exam?
P.S. I think it would be better kung makakagawa ka din ng Facebook group na open para sa lahat ng psychology graduates at mga aspiring-psychologists na mga Pilipino. So that aside from the updates, pwede tayong makapagshare ng mga ideas doon. What do you think?
Hey! Thanks for visiting my blog though I don't have time to post more often..about the requirements you can check my blog post on this link:
